The answer: a structured photo protocol. Nine photos are enough to convey all relevant information, and they say more than twenty phone calls.
What belongs in the protocol? Portrait frontal neutral, natural smile, maximum smile. 45° left and right. Intraoral frontal, left, right with retractor. And: Shade tab in focus.
Why does this work? Photos show what words cannot describe. The natural morphology, the color depth, the texture. Work can start straight away, without follow-up questions.
A structured photo protocol can significantly reduce the rework rate for anterior restorations and avoid follow-up questions.
